BHARATIYA JANA AROGYA SANSTHAN

Bharatiya Jana Arogya Sansthan(BJAS) is an autonomous body established under statutory provisions of law to work as a subsidiary towards implementation of healthcare services in India. The primary objective of Bharatiya Jana Arogya Sansthan is to bridge the gap between stakeholders and facilitate beneficiaries connected to public health welfare schemes being implemented by state and central healthcare authorities.

BJAS is working in the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Bihar. After expanding operations in the Northeast, healthcare services were also extended to Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.

Over the years, BJAS has been able to groom and support small Community Based Organizations involved in a variety of healthcare enhancement programmes. BJAS’s core strength comes from its network of NGOs, Community Based Organizations and Healthcare Support Centres. BJAS operates through its own network of support centres and also mobilizes Health Support Teams (HST) from strategic locations.

Our critical intervention in the field of national health programmes undertaken by Govt of India and concerned state governments and commendable achievements made us one of the major partner in executing national healthcare programmes.

KEY COMPONENTS:

→ To set up Ayusman Bharat Counselling Desks in each Block and District of the states to guide beneficiaries

→ Engaging front line functionaries and creating backward and forward linkages between HWC and AB PM-JAY

→ To set up e Sanjeevani Telemedicine Centres to empower healthcare providers and beneficiaries avail better, smarter and faster health consultation

→ To establish Rural Health and Wellness Centres (RHWCs), Urban Health and Wellness Centres (UHWCs), Block Public Health Units (BPHUs) and Integrated Public Health Labs (IPHLs) all over the country

→ Survey of Core areas of intervention; data collection and formulation; data analysis and reporting

→ Expanding HR and Multi-tasking

→ Community mobilization, awareness generation and health promotion

→ Improving awareness,

→ Increasing e-card penetration, and

→ Establishing a continuum of care which will ultimately lead to increased utilization under the scheme.
